Going deeper – meditation websites
These are few interesting but less well known websites on meditation. They’re all mentioned somewhere or other in my meditation posts, but I thought it would be good to bring them all together in one place.
(1) o-meditation.com
o-meditation.com is an introduction to dozens of genuine and well-respected teachers of depth meditation – ie what I sometimes refer to in these posts as radical meditation – who teach the same essential truth as Gautam Buddha but are less well known.
(2) www.realbuddhaquotes.com/
Most Buddha quotes on the internet are fakes. This site has some quotations verified from the original texts.
(3) osho.com
Loving commentaries on many famous enlightened teachers, and modern day answers to seekers questions. Some paywall, much free.
(4) realization.org/p/ashtavakra-gita/richards.ashtavakra-gita/richards.ashtavakra-gita.html
This is John Richard’s translation of the famous Ashtavakra Gita. It’s super hard to understand if you’ve never seen anything like this, but it’s got the entire teaching of the same truths as Buddha taught in a few compressed pages and well worth having a look just for the fun of seeing the ancient way of expressing things in it’s entirety.
(5) J Krishnamurti
I always thought Krishnamurti was a boring 1940s figure until I saw him recently on Youtube and fell in love. He has the authority of inner experience to start from nothng and express the truths of the path of meditation in direct simplicity in terminology of the modern world. Thousands of years of philosophy and tradition swept away in the dust …. nothing whatever of the complex expression of the Ashtavakra Geeta.
